About Pimsleur Spanish
Pimsleur Spanish is Pimsleur's audio course: 30-minute lessons where a narrator prompts you and you answer out loud before the native speaker does. Pimsleur sells Latin American Spanish in five levels and a separate Castilian (Spain) course, so pick the edition before you start. The app adds short reading and flashcard practice, but the core is listening and speaking. Subscriptions are the same as for every Pimsleur language; one-off Spanish level prices were not checked. It suits a beginner who learns by ear on a commute and wants to speak from day one. Vocabulary grows slowly, and the speech is clear studio audio, not real conversation.

How Pimsleur Spanish works
Each lesson is a guided conversation. You hear a short exchange, the narrator asks you to say something, you answer out loud, then a native speaker says it correctly. Words come back at growing intervals so they stick without flashcards.
It is built for a commute or a walk: no screen needed. The method is set out in how the Pimsleur method works.
Who it suits, and what to add
It suits a beginner who wants to say real sentences early and learns better by ear than by reading. It suits less a learner who wants grammar explained or a big vocabulary fast.
Add reading and grammar from Babbel Spanish or a free Language Transfer course, and real-speed Spanish from Spanish listening practice. Compare the big audio courses in best online Spanish courses and Babbel vs Pimsleur.
