How to cancel
Preply's help centre gives these steps, on the website only. Go to Settings, then Subscriptions. Click the three dots next to the tutor's subscription and choose Cancel Subscription. If Preply offers alternatives, choose Proceed with cancellation, pick a reason, click Continue Cancellation and confirm. You get a confirmation email and the status shows Subscription cancelled.
On the app, open preply.com in a browser and do the same. Each tutor is a separate subscription, so cancel each one.
When to cancel
At least one day before the billing date. Preply says cancelling on the billing date itself does not stop that charge. If the renewal is less than 24 hours away, contact support through the ? icon on the homepage or Profile, Help, Customer support in the app. There is no cancellation fee.
What happens to your lessons
Lessons you booked before cancelling still take place. Lessons you paid for but have not booked expire at the end of the current 28-day billing cycle, so book them before then or they are lost. If you only need a break, Preply also lets you pause or change a plan instead of cancelling.
How to get a refund
Preply says it may refund a charge when you cancel and used no lessons from that billing cycle, if you ask within 28 days of the charge. Refunds are not in your account settings: open a chat through the ? icon on the homepage, or Profile, Help, Customer support in the app. Each request is reviewed individually. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and can take up to 30 days to show, depending on your bank.

Does Preply refund unused lessons?
Only if you cancel, used no lessons from that billing cycle and ask within 28 days of the charge, and each request is reviewed. Unbooked lessons otherwise expire at the end of the 28-day cycle.
